'The Wages of Fear' Director: Henri-Georges Clouzot (1953) French w/ English subtitles | BFI 4K Ultra HD Region Free

A masterpiece of suspense filmmaking presented in 4K Ultra HD.

Based on Georges Arnaud's 1950 novel of the same name and critically hailed upon its original release, The Wages of Fear propelled director Henri-Georges Clouzot (Diabolique, La Vérité and Le Corbeau) to international fame and gave rise to a remake from William Friedkin in his 1977 film Sorcerer.

In a squalid South American village, four desperate men are hired by a US oil company to embark on a treacherous journey, transporting a volatile cargo of nitro-glycerine to a massive oil well fire. Friendships and courage are pushed to the limit in this nail-biting thriller. Starring Yves Montand.
