Story of Adele H. Blu-ray
'The Story of Adele H.' Director: François Truffaut (1975) Radiance Limited Edition Blu-ray | HD transfer | French & English w/ English subtitles
Adele Hugo, the daughter of poet and novelist Victor Hugo, falls in love with a British soldier and sails by herself to Novia Scotia, intending to persuade her newfound love interest to marry her. When he callously rejects her advances, she is unperturbed, and continues to pursue him. Her obsession becomes wilder and more desperate, leading her to become increasingly outcast from society.
The Story of Adele H. is a handsomely mounted costume drama that is nevertheless one of Francois Truffaut’s darkest and most psychologically complex works, with a legendary, Oscar-nominated central performance from the then 20-year-old Isabelle Adjani (Possession).
