'Shoah and 4 Films After Shoah' Director: Claude Lanzmann (1985-2013) Eureka Masters of Cinema 4-Disc Blu-ray Box w/ 60-page book
Lanzmann spent twelve years spanning the globe for surviving camp inmates, SS commandants, and eyewitnesses of the “Final Solution”. Without dramatic re-enactment or archival footage – but with extraordinary testimonies – Shoah renders the step-by-step machinery of extermination, and through haunted landscapes and human voices, makes the past come brilliantly alive.
Included in this set are:
- Shoah (1985) Documentary masterpiece - twelve years in the making and with a 550 minute running time. The story of the holocaust is told from the first hand testimonies of camp survivors, SS commandants and other eyewitnesses.
- A Visitor From the Living (1997) based on an interview with Marc Rossel who visited Auschwitz in 1943 as a member of the 'International Committee of the Red Cross'
- Soribór, October 14, 1943, 4pm (2001) recounts the prisoner uprising at the Soribor death camp.
