Senso Blu-ray
'Senso' Director: Luchino Visconti (1954) Radiance Limited Edition Blu-ray | 123/121 mins | 2K restoration supervised by cinematographer Giuseppe Rotunno and Martin Scorsese | Italian and English w/ English subtitles
On the eve of the Third Italian War of Independence, a countess anxiously conspires to make revolution happen. Following a chance encounter at the opera, she begins an affair with a charismatic lieutenant in the occupying Austrian army who sent her rebellious cousin into exile. As her feelings for the lieutenant intensify, her moral compass waivers.
Based on Camillo Boito's novella, Alida Valli (The Third Man, Eyes Without a Face) and Farley Granger (Rope) shine in this masterful period melodrama about lust and deception.
