At the height of Brazil's military dictatorship in the 1970s, a forty-something technology expert finds himself on the run from hitmen and the authorities. Hoping to reunite with his son and escape the country, he covertly travels to Recife during Carnival, but soon realises that the city is not the safe haven he was expecting.
