Entertaining and influential classic Western. When a small town sheriff (John Wayne) arrests a crooked rancher's brother the jailhouse becomes the target of attack from the outlaw's private army. With only an old coot (Walter Brennan) as his deputy he enlists the help of a formerly sharp-shooting drunk (Dean Martin) and a young gunslinger ( Ricky Nelson) to hold off the bad guys. Meanwhile the sheriff has also caught the eye of a beautiful gambler (Angie Dickinson).
