'Daughters of Darkness' Director: Harry Kümel (1971) Radiance Limited Edition 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray

Two newlyweds are travelling through Europe when they make a detour to a deserted Belgian seaside hotel. Their romantic idyll soon takes a dark turn when they meet an enigmatic countess and her mysterious companion, whose unsettling charm and aristocratic poise mask a deadly intent.

A Euro-horror classic, Daughters of Darkness is an opulent fever dream, weaving a Sapphic subtext and feminist undercurrent beneath its baroque surface. François de Roubaix's (Le Samouraï) score drapes the film in languid menace, where harpsichords, wordless vocals, and eerie synths blur the line between seduction and dread. Starring Delphine Seyrig (Jeanne Dielman).
