Pre-code crime drama from Hawks - interestingly 'Scarface' was his next film. A former D.A. (Walter Huston) becomes warden of a state prison. He encounters one of the men he helped incarcerate, a young man (Phillips Holmes) he believes deserved a lesser sentence, and offers him a chance to rebuild his life which he takes. However when the prisoner stumbles upon a murder in one of the cells he is torn between revealing the culprit to the warden and not becoming a 'snitch'. Also stars Boris Karloff, Constance Cummings.
